Ueli

Hello, I am Ueli, the Principal Administrator at GEOS Cairns. It is my job to make the college operate according to rules and regulations, and ensure that the students and staff enjoy studying and working at our school.

I am originally from Switzerland, but lived and worked in the education industry in Japan before coming to Cairns. In my spare time I like to walk along the Esplanade, play with my children, watch the Taipans (Cairns basketball team) and just relax at Palm Cove.

Hyaesil

Hi, I’m Hyaesil from Korea and I am the International Relations Officer. And guess what? I also studied at GEOS Cairns six years ago. After that, I worked for Scuba Diving Companies for a number of years as Dive Instructor. English is very hard language to learn and it takes a long time to master but if you try hard you will get good results, so try hard but don’t forget enjoying Cairns life as well. Glynette

I’m Glynette and I am the Homestay Coordinator at GEOS Cairns. I am married and have three children. In my spare time I like to take relaxing walks in my garden, watch movies and go shopping.

I am originally from the Philippines, but came to Cairns from New Zealand, where I lived for many years. I really love the relaxed lifestyle in Cairns, the warm weather and the ease of travel.

Rie

My name’s Rie, I’m from Japan. Before GEOS, I had traveled to America, Canada, and Korea and during this time I experienced living with homestay families. These experiences encouraged me to work for GEOS Japan in order to meet new challenges.
I’ve been with GEOS Japan for a year and a half. I was transferred to GEOS Gold Coast for few months and then to GEOS Cairns. I love Cairns because people are very friendly and I enjoy the rainforest surrounding the Cairns area. I like bush walking and swimming at the beach. I know you can improve your English and have a wonderful time here at our school. If you have any questions, please come and see me anytime. I’ll be happy to help you.

Hello! My name is Kathy. I am the Accounts Officer and have been with GEOS Cairns College of English since February 2007. I came to the Cairns area 21 years ago from the United States and fell in love with the people, mountains, ocean and beaches.

I have six children who love taking advantage of all that Cairns has to offer and our weekends are busy with sports, exploring the beaches, hiking in the rainforest and taking drives to the amazing and unique attractions around the Cairns area. Hope to see you in Cairns someday!

Hello!  I am the new Registrar in the Administration department.  I used to be an ESL teacher too!  I taught in Korea for a year and in Australia for three years.  Some of my favorite foods are Korean now!  I started working as registrar for GEOS in July 2007 and love it!  My colleagues are very friendly, helpful and fun to work with. We are a great team! I am from Canada but I have lived in Australia since 2004.  Actually I have lived in and visited many countries in North America, Asia, Europe and Scandinavia! I love snow sports like cross country skiing, snowboarding and I played Ice hockey since I was 5 years old! In Cairns, I like to camp, fish and hike.  The weather is excellent for Adventure!  I hope to see you at GEOS Cairns!
